Becoming a Student Ambassador for the Department of Human Services means you will be the voice and face for our department, someone that prospective students can turn to for information about becoming a Human Services major. You will be an on and off-campus advocate, who will provide enthusiasm, knowledge and passion for our department and its courses. A Student Ambassador has first-hand experience that helps prospective students with the decision-making process by giving them a real insight into what life as one of our students might be like - a crucial part of allowing them to make a confident and informed decision about their future.
If you have any questions, or concerns, please contact Dr. Mikki Sherwood at 217-581-6374 or email mlsherwood@eiu.edu
Being a Student Ambassador is one of the best positions on campus for meeting new people and having fun. You will be responsible for welcoming prospective students and their families to campus and assisting faculty/staff at events for new students. Typically, Student Ambassadors are carefully selected based on grades, personality, character, communication skills, and enthusiasm. You can be proud to be selected for this prestigious role. It means that the Department of Human Services trust you to promote the department in the best possible light.
